More than 20 years in customer contact
Since 2006, as the lead responsible for customer contact teams, I’ve helped a range of national and international multi-million-dollar companies improve their customer contact departments through lasting change in leadership, team dynamics, processes, and ways of working. In late 2022, I founded The Caring Company to help companies permanently take their customer contact to the next level.

-Background
Where science meets practice
I have a background in Applied Neuroscience and Educational Sciences. That gives me insight into the science behind human development, and I know how to translate theory into practice.
My career in customer contact began in 2006, as a customer service agent alongside my studies. Within no time, I became a supervisor, and grew into team leader, manager, and Director of Customer Care. I still use that combination of analytical thinking and people-focus every single day. I love innovation and automation, but I never lose sight of the human side.
Core values
Three principles, one promise
My brand identity is built on the tension between two things that rarely go together: genuine people-focus and demonstrable results.
01
genuinely engaged
The name The Caring Company was chosen for a reason. People feel heard and seen by me. That’s how I build trust, and that’s how I get people moving.
02
Bluntly honest
I bring a different perspective on your customer contact strategy, one you hadn’t seen before. Even when it’s not what you’d hoped to hear.
03
Results that exceed expectations
I deliver what I promise, provably, with numbers. Even when things go wrong or the team has lost hope, I don’t give up until the job is done.

-Typically Cynthia
Did you know this about me?
I once took a career detour into Finance & Compliance.
Because of my half-Croatian background, I was raised bilingual. That makes it easy for me to pick up languages, and I can make myself understood in six of them.
In everyday life, I actually speak more English than Dutch.
I started out as an agent, and I still genuinely enjoy doing customer contact work.
Besides my work for The Caring Company, I'm also a member of the advisory board of the Frankwatching Conversational Conference, and I write columns for Ziptone.
I absolutely love creating beautiful, creative PowerPoint presentations.
-How I work
Three P's, one approach
Lasting change in customer contact comes down to three things that are inseparably linked: the people who do the work, the processes they follow, and the pennies it delivers.”
People
Working in customer contact means working with people, through people, for people. A successful leader understands what moves, motivates, or discourages people. I’m a people-focused leader who loves to challenge and motivate her team, rooted in autonomy. I’m visible, approachable, and present, whether working from home or in the office.
Processes
Customers and employees both benefit from clear, efficient processes that make everyone’s life easier. I enjoy tracking down inefficiencies and designing solutions that are easy to implement. Along the way, I build clear business cases that weigh the pros and cons, so you can easily build support within the organization.
Pennies
Nobody likes throwing money away, whether that’s an investment in an interim manager, or making the value of your customer contact team’s work visible. I help you save money by improving your team and optimizing your processes.
The Caring Company, why that name?
Because it sounds great, and it captures exactly what I bring to organizations.
Caring stands for care. For your organization, for the people in it, for the results you want to achieve.
Company stands for companionship. Someone who stands beside you, thinks along with you, and is still there when things get tough
Put those two together? That's The Caring Company.
