In 2021, I won the Manager of the Year award. A prestigious award, presented annually by the Customer Contact Management Association. During this multi-month process, nominated customer contact managers are evaluated by an expert jury on various aspects of their role. For example, leadership, innovation, vision, and strategy. From more than 60 nominated customer contact managers, eight semifinalists were selected. Of these, four advanced to the finals. During the process, the managers showcase more of themselves through assignments. For instance, a company visit is organized where participants host the jury members at their office. Here, they explain the operation, size, impact, and scope. The jury members get the chance to talk to managers and direct reports. There was also a vlog battle, where participants, in pairs, recorded a vlog under the guidance of Gerrit Heijkoop.
